Renovation of a Historic Spanish Revival Home
Pam and Don decided to sell Pam's childhood home in Arcadia when the neighborhood suddenly became infiltrated by mansions. They looked north to Sierra Madre set in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains. What they found was a lovely, modest Spanish revival home that had been cherished by previous owners. There had been an early addition of a sitting room and bathroom which needed to be redone. This required foundation work because of the necessary removal of a bearing wall in order to join the two spaces. The new kitchen/sitting room and master bathroom incorporate energy-saving technology, but the design is sympathetic to the original architecture.
